Our history…
The company The MOT Training and Compliance Group Ltd was created by Karena and Russell Hill.
Karena has a Motor Trade background, having worked in the accounts department of a large dealership and then on the front line, helping to set up and then managing an independent garage and MOT station.
Russell has a vast amount of experience in training having assessed NVQ’s, Apprenticeships and a wide range of other courses. Russell worked closely with Karena and others to create our successful MOT training centre, where we deliver MOT tester, Manager and a range of refresher courses.
In regard to MOT compliance, we are working with a range of clients from the top dealership in the AM100 list as well as other, smaller dealerships and independent garages to supply help, support and practical solutions to help them with their DVSA MOT compliance.
The help and support part of our business came about as an extension of the training courses that we started running in 2016. Newly qualified MOT Managers often felt that they needed a bit more day-to-day help keeping up with the complexities of MOT compliance.
We now have fantastic team of trainers, administration and support staff, who will help guide you and your team through everything you need. And that may be just an answer to a question, please just ask.
Karena Hill
Founder, Managing Director and general brains of the operation!!
Karena knows the company inside out and can be found mainly driving around the country visiting our clients, or in our training room or even the boardroom of a dealership carrying out MOT Tester Annual training.
Whatever she has been doing during the day, she will look forward to a large gin and tonic at the end of it!
Karena also does the occasional manager course and trains our select group of MOT Consultants.

Russell Hill
Head Of Training & Development
Russell has a long background in training and carries out Manager training, Manager refresher training and a large number of site compliance visits up and down the country.
Outside of the business he is a brilliant armchair commentator on football, cricket and rugby now he’s too old to play it himself.
Russell came relatively late to the motor trade but delivers courses and site visits with passion and humour.

Charlotte Snuggs
Charlotte joined us in 2021 as an admin assistant but has grown to become so much more.
Charlotte organises the training courses, making sure everyone knows where they are going and what they are going to be doing. She also makes sure the “glory boy and girl trainers” have all the necessary workbooks, paperwork and everything they need to conduct a course.
Recently Charlotte qualified as an MOT Manager and has trained to become part of our compliance team to conduct site visits herself. A closet petrol head, and lover of old barn find cars, she’s also partial to the odd Porsche!
Lisa Henry
Lisa also joined to become part of the admin team but is invaluable at keeping everything running smoothly.
Rarely spotted outside her natural habitat, the office, Lisa is a great organiser of site visits, diary management, accounts and “enjoys” organising events and exhibitions.
When we aren’t keeping her busy her children do.
Lisa is the glue that holds us all together.
Mark Henry
Mark’s our most recent member of the team. He has a mechanical background and joined us as an MOT tester trainer. Since joining us he’s become an IMI assessor and an MOT manager.
Mark runs the tester course and has recently become part of the compliance team, going out to help with independent QC checks and advise on the compliance of the site.
Outside of work Mark’s a Champion Rally driver. He races as an independent in the BTRDA Rallycross production 2 litre class and has won that class for two years running (must be our sponsorship that’s done it!).
